Located at the edge of a new three block master plan for a downtown LA creative campus the CC split boutique hotel acts as a threshold for the new development. It faces downtown LA and provides the best views toward such as well as the new development, and surrounding emerging areas. The center atrium acts as an extension of the urban plaza below and invites users into the building and provides them direct access to multi functional open spaces. The south facade is wrapped with a perforated metal screen to reduce energy use and control the sunlight. It however acts as a occupiable outdoor space for each room, as the user can control to open or close the facade panel allowing the guest to occupy the breis sole space and choose their level of sunlight.
